Educational Philosophy
We learn by constructing knowledge from fitting new stimuli within our known world to create new knowledge. I believe learning is an active and intrinsic process, so I encourage active student engagement through creative 21st century instructional activities in a safe learning environment.
Texas Technology Educator Standards
Standard I. All teachers use technology-related terms, concepts, data input strategies, and ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications.
Standard II. All teachers identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.
Standard III. All teachers use task-appropriate tools to synthesize knowledge, create and modify solutions, and evaluate results in a way that supports the work of individuals and groups in problem-solving situations.
Standard IV. All teachers communicate information in different formats and for diverse audiences.
Standard V. All teachers know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.

I learned to save word documents with a lot of effects or powerpoint slides as pdf files to maintain the format. My students can use pdf saves to ensure their assignments keep their formatting.
Chapter 3 & 4 taught me many applications I can use for planning student activities that allow them to explore or design. Learners will use these applications to make learning personal, real world, and motivating. |

The copyright activity reminded me of the details of Fair Use, which is important to know and teach. Knowing Fair Use and Copyright will ensure the student is equipped for success in higher learning and the professional world.
The subject sampler is a great format for focused individual research. The students can use the same format to create their own research projects. |

The online learning Blog gives a lot of feedback that shows the similarities and differences in my peers ideas on the same topic. This keeps me from getting tunnel vision. Students benefit from an opportunity to hear various ideas and share theirs in a safe environment.
The Glogster project taught me another easy application that I can use to present information in a different format. By using Glogster, the students have to organize, analyze, and synthesize information in order to convey meaning in a limited space, but it also allows the students to use creativity. Slideshare.net turns documents and powerpoint presentations into webbased documents and it has a searchable database of other;s works. Students could use this to publish documents. |

In making the TEASe I learned about software to make videos and format video and audio files. This helps me plan adequate time when assigning a project that includes these applications.
The collage taught me many features of MC Word that I was not using. Using these features in class will model these applications for my students and encourage them to use them. I am very familiar with online learning but the Iris Module was a neat frame for the unit of learning. My students will benefit if my units are as organized. |

This lesson plan allows the student to explore economic principles, practice math functions, and use technology applications through a game on the internet. The students will enjoy the medium while mastering the objectives.
